The Indian Presidential Race 2012 has taken a very ugly turn which truly represents the state of Indian democracy ( pseudo ? ). On one side we have a  leader ( Mr Pranav Mukherji, current Finance Minister ) who is too old to see the state of his own ministry  and he wants to  become the President of India. One thing is certain that if he becomes the President of India, his medical expenses ( obviously will be paid by poor tax payers blood ) will rise exponentially and mostly he will spend his time in some expensive hospitals of  US. We are not bothered by what did he not get in the past (PM ?) but we can't allow an ailing person to become the President of India. Is faithfulness is the only criteria to become President of India ? We have already seen the competency of outgoing President Mrs. Pratibha Patil, whose only eligibility was being a woman & faithfulness to Congress Party ( read Sonia Gandhi ). Can't they find a more competent, healthy & energetic person for that post. Look at Ratan Tata, Narayan Murti, etc ! They themselves got retired from their jobs. In other words, they made the way for younger persons to take their place. But our Politicians :(   they are like seniors of Indian cricket team, who never tire of saying that there is still some cricket left in them !
On the other side we have Mr. PA Sangma. His eagerness to become President has made him a laughing stalk. No doubt our North-Eastern part has been neglected for longtime & is still neglected. And it would be better if we could choose some other competent & better person from noth-east to become president of India. I prefer James Michael Lyngdoh former chief election commissioner of India as the next President of India.
But strange are the ways of Indian democracy ! May someone free the Indian democracy from evils of caste, corruption, cash, nepotism & policy of appeasement !
